Re: Member Introductions
Hi there everyone-
I am a VERY new member to computer role playing games. I had never played ANY video games really, until I bought my then 9 year old son Age of Mythology 3 years ago. Well, I decided to see what he was enjoying so much and tried it myself. Then I became hooked and went through a LOT of RTS games like all the Age of Empires and such. I still really enjoy RTS games and am currently working on Sins of a Solar Empire.
About 6 months ago I found the joy of multiplayer through Age of Empires 3, and since then, a computer opponent just has not been as much fun. So I decided to try Guildwars as the reviews seems to say it wa a beautiful game (I really like excellent graphics) and I liked the free online aspect. And I heard the Wow is a very intense game. I just want to have fun!!
As you might have guessed by my name tag, I am a Nurse and I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I am married to a man who is addicted to Halo 3 online, and the mother of 2 children, 9 and 12 who are very sorry that they ever started the video game thing now. We have a farm and I breed Warmblood horses and purebred dogs as well.
I am excited about joining a community of gamers, and I am really looking forward to playing with others. But after being soundly spanked for months on Age of Empires by much more proficient players, I am a little shy!!

Re: Member Introductions
Welcome
It's nice to have another lady in the game, and another Canadian...how cool! I remember when this game was dominated by all these men (lol). Well, please don't be shy... its much more fun to play the game with guildees to help you through. Trust me, we have lots of people who started the game from prophecy a couple of months ago and they are now experienced (but won't admit it) who wouldn't mind keeping you company. As well as those of us who have finished the game, and are still working characters in the new areas.
Anyways, we wont let you be too shy! (at least I won't ). Happy to have you!

Hellooooo nurse! (animaniacs reference)
Thanks for posting a bit about yourself. I can't wait to hunt with you and take on some of the quests from early prophecies.. some of those are pretty long and have a really good storyline. I encourage you to take your time and run the quests in each area to gain as many skills as possible for your character.. and to explore the areas.. There are some awesome scenes, quests, and areas that hardly get played if you run through it fast. Of course you can always level up then go back and do the quests.. but they are more fun if you are level appropriate, and not overpowering the mobs in the area
I went ahead and leveled my first character and now am going back and running quests more with my second character.
Let me know if you need anything,
James

Re: Member Introductions
Better late than ever for a proper introduction...even though I joined in March and it's already June.
The name's Andrew and Guild Wars is my first MMO (thank God!). I nearly broke and bought World of Warcraft, despite not having a source of money to pay the monthly fees. Checked out GW and here I am!
Anyway, I'm 18 and still live with my parents, 'cause mom ain't gone off the deep end enough to kick me out since I can cook and I do the laundry. I'm unemployed, so I've got too much free time on my hands. But making sure my parents keep what's left of their minds is practically a full-time job in itself. I want to get a job doing graphics for video games since I'm the family artist (but my drive has dwindled as of late).
I'm a reader, mostly Stephen King, but I've delved into the manga Hellsing as of late. I'd probably read some of H.P. Lovecraft's works if I had the chance, the Cthulu Mythos collection especially.
All-in-all, I'm glad to be in the guild and hope to help keep it alive well into Guild Wars 2.

Hi Andrew, (HeavyMetalHead). I saw your post and couldnt help but think that you might speak with Malice a bit.. he has done some game art for my games, and others. Might be able to help you get going in the right direction there.
In the meantime, I hope you have some fun playing this game with us!
Let me know if you need anything.

About time i remembered to do this
Hullo everyone, my in game name is Xanthos Soulstorm. In real life I'm a university student so you'll usually see me online quite late at night. I've been playing GW for almost a year and a half now, tried to quit few months ago but I'm back again. Glad to be part of TCK, everyone I've had the chance to talk to in-game has been great and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of you guys out there.

A noob all over again
Hello everyone, I just joined the guild last night and have only been playing a week after leaving WoW after over 3 years. I am a male 35 years old and live in Pennsylvania. I work for PennDot which is the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. I got totally burnt on playing WoW and all of the childish people who played it even though I did make some really good friends which made it hard to quit playing. My sons and I play PS3 but when they are playing it I was bored so I bought GW and right now I only have Prophecies and EotN. My oldest son has 2 characters on my account so everyone knows he has a necro lvl 6 I believe and a PvP ranger, he also played WoW for about 2 years.
I currently have a lvl 8 elementalist/monk named Van Kasha and a lvl 5 warrior/monk named Sir Vandalic I made yesterday. After just a few hours in the guild last night everyone seems very nice and mature which is great. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better as well as learning the game better in the future. So with that if I am asking to many questions about the game please let me know as I am a noob at this.

Pampered One I was born and raised in the Johnstown area small town called Windber. For 12 years my wife, 2 boys and myself lived in Butler which is close to Clarion, but I am now back in Windber as I moved back here 2 years ago due to smaller town to raise my boys and I also have family here.

Re: Member Introductions
Hello to All. I started playing GW when it was first released but never progressed much beyond the original missions. I never found a group of people to play with and got bored of having to play solo or with henchmen. I also play WoW and as such I will probably be restricted to being a casual guild member. I will most often be found playing on weekend mornings.
At the moment, I only have the special edition of Prophecy but I will consider the expansions if my playing time increases and the prices continue to drop.
In addition to my new lvl 7 Ranger, I have a lvl 18 Warrior and a lvl 19 Necromancer.
