Looking for your opinion!

Hello guildies,
Im looking at everybody running around with there hero's and im getting very jelious!!! hehe so i was wanting your opinion on which expansion is the best to buy between nightfall and eye of the north or should i just blow the budget and get them both!!

What are the pro's and con's between the 2?

At the moment im leaning towards nightfall cos then i can get dervishs and paragons

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It was fun grouping with a fellow warrior last night. Those prop missions do bring back memories (seems so long ago but i started only in May actually :p).

Here's my 2 cents

1. Factions
a. New class = Assasin & Ritualist
b. Fastest pace, least missions & quests
c. More PVP oriented, may require farming for luxon or kurzick factions
d. Required if u want to play Alliance Battle (AB)
e. No heroes only henchman
f. New skills, weapons & armor

2. NightFall
a. New class = Dervish & Paragon
b. Pace is in between Prop & Factions
c. This is where u start using heroes if u dont have EOTN
d. Some grinding required for Sunspear rank as specified in main mission
e. New skills, weapons & armor

3. EOTN
a. This is where u start using heroes if u dont have NF
b. Useful PVE skills from Dwarf, Norn, Asuran & Vanguard ranks
c. Many (about 18) multi levels dungeons for u to explore/quest/farm
d. Hall of monuments that can be carried over to GW2 (not really sure about this)
e. New skills, weapons & armor

I would have to say, if heroes is your main goal....then go NF. The early heroes there you have to level up but it really don't take that long. Right off the bat you get a warrior and shortly thereafter you get 2 monks, a dervish and a choice of ranger or elementalist. Thats 5 withing the first few hours. As you go along you will pick up another 10-15. Quite the arsenal at your disposal.
Also, this is a good storyline and a lot of playing hours plus some nice perks like a dozen FREE keyless chests you can open once every 30+ days thats will net you 10-20k each time you run them.

Eye of the North has a nice variety of settings also but is a much shorter chapter. Right off the bat you get a level 20 monk and ele and shortly after a psychotic mesmer. Then they become very sparse. An assassin and ranger on the Ebon Vanguard portion; Warrior on the Norn portion; and Necro and Paragon on the Asuran Portion. Oh, also a dervish and ritualist in a tournament setting...however these 2 are not a lock to get. The tournament cost 100?? or 200?? each time through and you actually have to beat the correct possible hero to get them. I got both of them after runing the tournament about 2 or 3 times but Lady has never gotten either of them and she has done it 20+ times at least. It is random as to who you will fight in the tourny.

As most everyone will tell you ,I hate Factions. The story is splotchy and voice acted by a bunch of off the street boobs. Half of the settings are grotesque cities and really confusing and ugly. The only possible thing to like about this chapter is the addition of Alliance Battles. But that wears thin rather quickly for most. Maybe one other perk, is it is so incredibly easy to level, so if you are really lazy or impatient, it's a great chapter.

Get both Nightfall and ey of the North. These are both great and totally different. If you start a new charater in Nightfall by lvl 10 you can get into Eye of North. I just did it with my Ele I made there with Funky's help yesterday morning.

Factions is a love hate one for many me included. Its missions are not that easy and once of the mainland the setting is hard to handle since imost of the city you run thru is slanted. So this one unless you really want to do the faction stuff you can wait on.

If you can only get one get Nightfall it is a great game and lots of fun to play.

your best choice would be NF if you are looking forward for heros and want to check out paragon and dervish
what you get
- a tutorial when you first start NF
- tutorial how to use your heros (flag hero to a spot on the map)
- two extra character slots
- one extra slot in bank (pay 50gp) in game for it
- gets really challenging near the end
- as Gunter said about the heros
- as Gunter said before about the free
- as funky said about the mission and quests
- take quite some time to get to the mainland of NF
- challenges to get heros different armor
- Sunspear points to get sunspear skill
- Lightbringer points to get lightbringer skill which will later on in NF missions
- really good storyline

EoTN expansion
- do a quest base on which campaign your character start from
- you get two heros when you arrive (monk and elementalist)
- Useful PvE skills from Dwarf, Norn, Asuran & Vanguard ranks
- Some Useful PvP and PvE skills
- really good storyline
- shorter in length than other campaign
- gets more challenging
- a lot more dungeon
- refer to gunter post for getting other heros
- tutorial on how to use heros
- no extra bank slot
- no extra character slot

since you never said anything about factions I will not talk about it

Thanks for all the help, Going from what all you have said nightfall looks like the best choice. Ill get it in the next few days.

EoTN does have a Hero Tutorial ..
It is available in the Gunnars Hold I believe.. (the opening city)

Just as a side note on that EotN hero training class. It is the easiest place to cap a white wolf. Got one for a hero while doing the training. I was just looking for something not seen too often until i get her the white tiger or lionness.
